Editorial standards

Option News is an independent German-language specialist publication covering business, finance and crypto. This page sets out the principles under which our articles are produced.

Editorial mission (§ 25 MedienG)

Option News reports independently on economic and financial topics with a connection to the German-speaking region. We do not follow any party-political line. Our coverage is aimed at private investors, professionals in the field and anyone who wants to understand complex financial subjects without a sales pitch. The reference above is to § 25 of the Austrian Media Act (Mediengesetz), which requires publishers to disclose their basic editorial direction.

Editorial diligence

We verify our sources carefully, flag the date and any updates transparently, and correct errors promptly. Figures taken from third-party sources are linked to the original. Quotations are attributed and, in German, rendered in indirect speech where appropriate (Konjunktiv I).

Corrections policy

If you spot a factual error in one of our articles, please write to [email protected]. Substantive corrections are logged at the foot of the affected article with date and scope. Pure spelling corrections are made silently.

Separation of editorial and advertising

Paid content and provider placements are clearly labelled "Anzeige" (advertisement), "Werbung" (advertising) or "Sponsored Content" — both visually and in the page source. Our editorial team is free in its assessment of providers and is not bound by any commercial agreement. Scoring on comparison pages follows criteria that are published openly (see the methodology section of each comparison page).

Byline and editorial structure

Articles on Option News appear under the shared byline "Option News Redaktion". We deliberately run a lean editorial structure without individual author profiles — editorial responsibility in the sense of the Austrian Media Act rests in full with the person named under "Verantwortlich für den Inhalt" in the imprint.

Not investment advice

Articles on Option News do not constitute investment advice within the meaning of the relevant national supervisory authorities. The content is provided for information only. For advice on individual investment or tax questions, please consult a qualified adviser.
